Michael Bissett's interest in politics began during the Vietnam War. He served as platform committee chair for a mock Democratic Party convention at his high school that attracted the unlikely combination of Scoop Jackson and Morris Udall as convention speakers.
His B.S. degree from Michigan State University includes a triple major in political science, psychology, and English. He worked as a photographer, journalist and desk editor for daily newspapers in Michigan and Ohio before becoming an advertising creative director.
Michael has worked as a volunteer on Democratic political campaigns for nearly 25 years, and is a graduate of Camp Wellstone. Most recently he has acted as campaign manager for his wife Paula Yensen, who was re-elected to the Lake in the Hills village board in 2005.
Michael is the marketing and special projects manager for a software company that develops custom automation solutions for the publishing and advertising industries. He has over 15 years of experience as a publishing technology consultant to Fortune 100 companies.
