Our favorite radio station is Chicago's Air America affiliate, WCPT 820 AM, Chicago's Progressive Talk.
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison founded the progressive political organization that is known today as the Democratic Party. They established the importance of protecting equal rights and insisted on defending ordinary citizens against the power interests of the aristocracy. These principles have endured for two centuries, but are sorely tested today by extremists who would surrender our human rights and have us abandon our duties as citizens.
We must celebrate our nation's legacy if it is to also be the birthright of our grandchildren. Never forget that the dreams that inspired our nation's founders must inevitably lead us down a path with many challenges. If we fail to meet those challenges, the great American experiment may yet fail. This short video traces the unbroken thread that links us forever with our past, yet points out how much remains for us to do. As Democrats, we have always known that America is a nation made better when it dreams to be great.
